Keep It in the Family: Book Review
Hi friends! Today I’m reviewing Keep It in the Family by John Marrs!
GoodReads Rating: 4/5 stars
John Marr’s Keep It in the Family is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps you on edge from the first page to the last. The novel explores dark and twisted themes, centering around a couple busy turning a derelict house into their dream home. When they think the house is ready, Mia discovers a chilling message underneath the old wallpaper in one of the bedrooms. This incident leads them to find out that their home was once a house of horrors.
The plot is well-paced, and Marrs does an excellent job of building suspense. The story takes several unexpected twists that keep readers guessing until the end. The multiple perspectives give readers a deeper understanding of the characters’ motivations and flaws, making the story feel complex. Marrs doesn’t shy away from exploring the darker sides of human nature, and the book contains some chilling, disturbing moments.
While the plot is compelling, I found the darker elements unsettling. The characters, while well-developed, occasionally act in ways that stretch believability, but this doesn’t detract too much from the overall experience.
Overall, Keep It in the Family is a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat read perfect for fans of psychological thrillers. John Marrs delivers a page-turner that’s sure to keep you hooked.
Thanks for reading!
