The Unraveling: Book Review
Hi y’all! Today I’m reviewing The Unraveling by Vi Keeland!
GoodReads Rating: 4/5 stars
Vi Keeland’s The Unraveling is a gripping thriller that pulls readers in with its captivating characters, emotional depth, and well-crafted storyline. Known for her ability to create complex relationships, Keeland delivers a thrilling narrative that is suspenseful and deceptive.
The story revolves around Meredith McCall, a New York City psychiatrist adjusting to her new life after tragedy. When she crosses paths with a man she has an unusual history with, she follows him, provoking an unhealthy obsession with Gabriel Wright.
When Gabriel walks into her office as a patient, supposedly unaware of her identity, she knows it crosses all ethical bounds to treat him. Yet, Meredith can’t turn him away and becomes further entangled. Her life and career continue to unravel, and it seems things can not get any worse.
The characters are well-developed, with their personalities, flaws, and strengths slowly revealed as the story progresses. Their journeys are central to the plot, making the emotional stakes feel high.
The novel’s pacing can sometimes feel uneven, with certain plot points feeling rushed or unresolved. I wished for more development in some areas to fully flesh out the story, and I could have done without the intimate scenes in this book as well.
The Unraveling is a page turner that I highly recommend for thriller fans.
Thanks for reading!
