Our Honeymoon Travel Guide

As some of you may know, we got married a couple of weeks ago and went to Puerto Rico for our honeymoon!

We were looking for a place that offered beaches, good food, and opportunities to freely explore. It turned out to be the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

We split the week between two sides of the island, San Juan and Rincon.

We stayed Sunday to Saturday, starting in San Juan. The picture above was the view from our first Airbnb! We were worried about the weather because it was hurricane season, but it turned out to be beautiful with only a few rain storms.

Jon and I agree the food was our favorite part of the trip. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we were blown away by how delicious everything was. The breakfast and the coffee each day were by far our favorite.

While it was raining, we explored the historic and colorful Old San Juan, known for its cobblestone streets and colonial architecture. We even visited one of the two well-preserved forts! When we returned, the sun was out and starting to set, so we enjoyed it by the beach.

We ended the day by returning to Old San Juan for drinks, dinner, and gelato.

On Tuesday, we checked out of our first Airbnb and spent the morning in Old San Juan. We got coffee and lunch before our drive to Rincon.

After lunch, we decided to drive to a waterfall on the way to Rincon. Gozalandia is a privately owned waterfall park 30 minutes from Rincon. It features multiple waterfalls and natural swimming pools, making it a highlight of our trip!

Our Rincon Airbnb was one of my favorite rental places I’ve ever stayed. It was technically in Aguada, right outside Rincon, and created for couples. The house comes with a completely private pool and outdoor area. The place is just a minute’s walk from the beach and within driving distance to more beaches, restaurants, and coffee shops. If you plan on staying here, I recommend renting a car to drive into town.

The rest of our days were casual beach days. Playa Domes and Steps Beach were our favorites. Our Airbnb provided beach chairs, an umbrella, and towels, allowing for relaxing days on the beach.

As stated previously, breakfast was amazing. The English Rose offered various coffee drinks, teas, and baked goods. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful view while enjoying a morning coffee. Friends Cafe was a cute coffee stand with many breakfast options and fantastic coffee. Tables were scattered around so you could enjoy your food in the Rincon Plaza. Also located in the heart of Rincon was Cafe 413. They offer a variety of coffee drinks, smoothies, and breakfast options, including pastries and sandwiches. I got the french toast, and it was delicious.

Besides the breakfast and beach, we also loved the dinner and drinks. Jon enjoyed the local beer, and I enjoyed the Moscow Mules. The food and drinks were so good at The Beach House, and we loved eating while overlooking the ocean. The views of the sunset made a trip to this spot worth it! The Harbor Restaurant was another casual beachfront restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere. They serve seafood and Puerto Rican dishes, as well as delicious cocktails.

📍Cafe2Go

We left early Saturday morning and got coffee on our way out at Cafe2Go.

Overall- it was such a great experience. We would love to take a trip back to Puerto Rico!

Thanks for reading!
